An unparalleled natural inspiration meets us in this book that focuses on the embroidery of the 1950s and 60s. Over the years, the association has collaborated with several of today's leading textile artists. Over time, these embroideries have become a colourful cultural heritage, important to preserve, use and develop in line with contemporary demand and needs. The book contains around ten descriptions of both original embroideries and new, adapted proposals. Use these embroideries as inspiration and make your own compositions. Reuse older garments, mend, patch and renew a worn garment with a little embroidery.
Textile consultant Ann-Sofie Svansbo has revived the older embroideries and found new uses. Cultural historian Anna Lindqvist talks about the development of embroidery during the 20th century and three pattern creators are introduced in more detail. Graphic designer Nygårds Maria Bengtsson has skillfully transformed the material into an inspiring book. Together they have previously published the popular book Östgötakoftor.
