Handicrafts in Östergötland - a regional center for crafts and arts and crafts
Welcome to Hemslöjden i Östergötland, a membership association with its own shop, gallery and workshops in central Linköping! With us you can take part in exhibitions in the Slöjdgalleriet, buy locally produced crafts and handicrafts in the shop or take courses in our red warehouse at Hemslöjdsgården.
The purpose and ideal of handicrafts is to convey the fundamental connections between material, technology and function and to stimulate development and innovation with tradition as a foundation. For many, handicrafts have become a lifestyle, an expression of living more sustainably, in several different senses.
Every year, around a hundred craftsmen and artisans deliver locally produced products to the store. The store has a unique costume room with Östergötland village costumes and we are also a retailer for some Swedish craft industries.
Hemslöjden i Östergötland has been selling in stores since 1911. The store is owned by Hemslöjden i Östergötland Länsförbund and is operated through the company Östgöta Hemslöjd AB. The store has been located at Storgatan 41 in Linköping since 1967.
